Galactic Glories around a Supercluster: Abell 1680
Abell 1680 is a rich cluster of galaxies, 2.2 billion lichtyears away. This beautifully diverse und dense clusters features bright arcs of lensed background
galaxies, up to 12.5 billion lichtyears away. Some foreground spiral galaxies experience ram pressure. The extremely massive cD (central elliptical)
galaxy is surprisingly corless, compared to the other members of the cluster. Raw data: HST via HLA, NASA/ESA.
